Hi y'all !
Two weeks ago my son paid a visit to the dentist for the first time in his life .
It was kinda funny because he was all ready for the examination while the dentist still was looking for the right tools to use . :giggle
The picture reminded me a bit of those old Norman Rockwell paintings that were published way back in the 50's.
I can add that my son got away with a clean bill of dental health.
Bye,
Peter Dumont

Peter,
You have it exactly right! It is even a requirement that the boy should be a red-head. I'm 58 so I really remember looking at the Saturday Evening Post magazine at my grandmother's apartment. Rockwell often did the cover art.
Send it to the fellow who now illustrates the Readers Digest. His style is evocative of Rockwell - who knows it could end up on the magazine as an illustration.
regards,
Gary

excellent peter! i love this shot and i see the n.r. resemblance :DHi Andy !
If it hadn't been for your "visit to the dentist" posts, way back, I would never have had the bright idea to take my camera along to the dentist in the first place .
Here is a link to a picture by Mattias Elfving, which also reminds me a bit of Norman Rockwell.

IanIt was Andy's visit to the dentist serie from over a year ago, that inspired me to take my camera along to the dentist.

I don't think your son will ever suffer from dentist phobia. Judging from the picture, he looks really anxious to get going. :D :thumb

Peter,
I agree with Matty. Your son looks like he's ready to get it over with, while the Dentist is still sorting through his oral torture devices :lol
Great capture. It does remind me of a Rockwell print :thumb :thumb Or, of those 1st haircut shots that I've seen.
Very good work and what made you bring your camera to the Dentist's office? Did you plan this one?

SteveAbout a year ago Andy Williams posted a couple of pictures on STF that he took while being in the dentist's chair himself !
Needless to say I was awed by his brave and coldblooded display of photographic instinct .:rofl
It inspired me to take my camera along to my son's first dental check-up.
One can't plan the rest.
One can only get lucky :):
Thanks for dropping by.
