Hi, I just tried to "google" my website. Happy that my site comes up first but it comes up like this:
Countrified Photography ~ Lisa Vanlenthe- powered by SmugMug (http://www.countrifiedphotography.com/)
var ssConfig = { AlbumID: '7019332', newWindow: 'false', transparent: 'true', borderThickness: '0', borderColor: '8B0000', ...
www.countrifiedphotography.com/ - 21k - Cached (http://209.85.173.132/search?q=cache:1yIgWDCvZxgJ:www.countrifiedphotogr aphy.com/+countrified+photography&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=ca) - Similar pages (http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=related:www.countrifiedphotography.com/)
Is there a way to put a little blurb instead of the codes that come up?
thanks!

See, I did that, but mine still pulls up in google as
Photos from Alaskan Resident Brett Baker - Truly Alaskan Photography. var ssConfig = { AlbumID: '6650615', AlbumKey: 'cszNC', ...
Then again.. it hasn't updated since november for some reason...

Denise, I just did this with mine so I don't know when I'll see the update in google.
However, I have a question. Is the bio text the area I want to put text to help improve my google search hits? Basically, is the bio text the "keyword" entry area? If not, what is?
Thanks

The "bio" field populates your description meta tag. Google does not read or use the keyword meta tag, so don't worry about what it says (it is prefiiled by SmugMug anyway).
Your title tag, description meta tag, and text content on the page itself and three of the top factors in your Google rankings. (Links from other website is another crucial factor).
It will take Google a week or two to reindex your site. In the meantime, you can check your tags at http://www.scrubtheweb.com/cgi-bin/webtools/meta-check.cgi

Thanks, where do I add/change meta tags at?
I went to that page you suggested and I see this on my analysis:

Where do I change this? I can't find it anywhere on my customization settings.

Title Tag = Page Title (under sitewide customization)
Description Meta tag = Bio

Okay, will check it out...thanks!
For Meta Tag = Bio, that is the hidden bio text box?

It's the "Your Bio" field. It populates the description meta tag. If you have it hidden, I'm not sure if search engines will pick it up. However, whatever you see on scrub the web (http://www.scrubtheweb.com/cgi-bin/webtools/meta-check.cgi) is what the search engines will see, so it's easy to find out.
Hope that helps.
