What an unusual looking bird. his wings and color certainly do remind me of a parakeet. I wonder if they are related down the genetic line. Nice pic too, and welcome to the dgrin pictorial audubon society (my term). Thanks for adding to the wealth of avian awareness here. :thumb

Susan, weavers are pretty closely related to sparrows. I think any link to parakeets would be prehistoric :D
Angelo, wait until I get into my slides! I've even got Blackcrowned Night Herons amongst those. :rofl
