Hello, me again!

I have searched the site for help but the suggestions don't seem to be working. I am a beginner so I am probably doing something wrong.

I would like to change the background of my website to a picture I have taken. But I would like to keep the template. I did change the background to my picture by making a theme but then the layout isn't how I would like it.

Is there a way I can do this?
