I recently volunteered at my wife's nursing home to shoot portraits of the elderly people all dressed up for their valentine's day pageant. Here's some of my favorites

Also, while I had the studio setup, one of my wife's friends who works there wanted her portrait made as well.

I'd love some C&C on these. This was my first time using a 3 flash setup (2 umbrellas and a hair light) to take portraits. Am I doing it right?

The first few look a bit underexposed on my work monitor.

Most look underexposed to me also. Nice poses though.

:agree - but that can be fixed in post.

What I really love is the pose and expression of the lady in #4 - that is priceless!!!!:ivar :barb

These are awesome! They've already talked about the exposure, but I'll say again how the poses are fantastic. It really gives us insight on their individual personalities. I used to volunteer at our nursing home in NYC (back when I was in high school). I'd always wanted to be there for one of their pageants but never got the chance. So thank you for sharing these!!

Also: next time watch for those forehead light patches and nose light triangles.

Nice first time portrait session, and above all......what a great and generous thing to do do for these senior people. I like them all!
