One of my favorite subjects. So many great shots of them posted here, I just can't get enough of these beautiful birds. Here is a recent followed by a few of my older Egret favorites. (first is surrounded by mayflies or some other bug).

Cheers,
Gene

Beautiful shots of egrets, just beautiful. They almost look like art. I think they just might be art.

Gorgeous. (I am going to have to put a thesaurus on my tool bar, smile.)

ginger who just can't say enough.

Til I saw these, I was pretty content with my egret shots :cry

LOL Great shots Gene :thumb :thumb And talk about your sweet light :clap :clap So where'd most of these come from? The Midwest, or when you were out here?

Also, isn't this time of year pretty decent for shooting mating raptors in the Great Lakes area? I've been hoping for some hawk-type pics from the Hawkman :wink

As others have mentioned, the bar has been raised. Super work :D

Have you considered cloning out the bug on the first image?

Steve, nothiong has been nice this time of year around here. The weather has been very uncooperative for months. I see and shoot hawks the most in the fall.

The second and third are from Palo Alto Baylands. The rest are local midwest Egrets shot at my work site. THey are few and far between this year. The last 4 are from last year.

I considered cloning out the bugs but thought I'd let it stand as is. Here is another with a bug:

Wow! These shots are really amazing. I especially love the first one. I feel as if i'm there swatting the bugs away from my face.

Beautiful shots!

What a great series of images. Just lovely. As for the bug in this image, I think it is a great fortuitous capture. Keep the bug, it gives the image a vitality that would be lessened without it.:thumb
