Very nice Thomas, the lighting is so soft, and lovely.

I may need to look at that lightsphere thingy again. Do you have the link for it? I thought it was for shooting weddings and such.... :D :D

Did you use any other ambient sources of light? These are very natural looking, impressive!

The natural light was late afternoon light about an hour before sunset, but at ISO 200, f/8 and 1/60 I'm not sure how much fill I got out of the natural light, probably some. I had the lightsphere angled off 45 degrees to the left by swiveling the flash head to the left. I set the aperture and shutter speed manually so I could hand hold with a decent FOV. I let ettl take care of the rest with a FEC of about +1. Seems to work pretty well for some reason.

It is designed for weddings and candids, but I had the hairbrained idea of using it as a macro flash. It seems to work pretty well in that capacity. The way it mounts to the front of the flash, it hangs out there near the front of the lens and produces a large light source compared to bugs and flowers. Maybe I should invent the tmlphoto macrosphere?

Many flash diffusers work well for macro just because they are so much larger than the subject, that they function as a gigantic soft box just like you said, and your flower shots demonstrate so well. And it seems to work easily and seems not likely to break easily. Another $40 drink of the Kool-Aide. I think I'll use this often :clap
