hey all!
so when you click on my galleries page, at the top, above the thumbnails, it says "galleries galleries"...
i cannot figure out why it says it twice, i am sure its something really simple that i will kick myself for not figuring out, but i just cant do it right now :)
any help would be appreciated!

You have a category called "galleries" so you are getting a display of that rather than the typical galleries page. If you want the regular galleries page, then go into the control panel and remove the category named "galleries". That will allow your regular galleries page to show.

How many public galleries do you have? What do you expect to show on your galleries page?

right now, i have 2 public galleries, one for landscapes, one for macro..thats all i have for now.

i played around with it a bit more, now i have a category called photography, then landscape and macro are in there..but the galleries page still has the homepage stuff on it, like friends and the groups i belong to. it never did before...
i guess i want it to have both the macro and landscape there when you click galleries in the header nav bar...

does that make sense? i still look at andys moon river photography page for some inspiration,, is there any way to get the galleries page like that??

First you decide if you want to display a flat list of your galleries or if you want to display your category hierarchy. You can change that by clicking on the desired option in your homepage when logged in:

Then, you decide what else you want or don't want on your galleries page. If you want to get rid of other things showing on that page, you just tell me what you want to get rid of and we can hide it with CSS. That's how the moonriver page did it.

first off, thank you so much for your patience :)
i really appreciate your help, i am just anxious to get my site up and running to the point where i can just upload pictures and that's it!

anyways!
so, the main home page, looks fine now, because i hid the galleries, but then when you click galleries, there is nothing showing...so obviously i need some galleries there ;)

then maybe, the slideshow at the beginning, is there a way to get it to go through all the images, instead of just the specified gallery??

Just so you understand here. Your homepage and your galleries page are the same page. We just use CSS to hide some things on one version of the page and show them on another. If you want to see your galleries on either page, you have to go to the homepage layout button on the homepage and show your galleries/categories again. We can then use CSS to show them only on the page you want. After showing your galleries again, if you tell me what you want changes you want on the homepage or the galleries page, I can tell you what CSS changes to make to accomplish that.

A slideshow can be targeted at a gallery or a feed. There is no way to get it to go through all your images unless you keyword them all with the same keyword and use a keyword feed URL for the slideshow. The slideshow options are described here (http://wiki.smugmug.net/display/SmugMug/Flash+Slideshow).

ohh i get it
okay, so i want the homepage to just have the slideshow, then obviously the galleries page, to have the galleries!

could you help me with the css to do that?

i am going to play around with the slideshow on my own time, thats not a big concern at this moment
