ir's all about the sky, the clouds, and the light to me. today, for a brief hour or so, the conditions were nearly perfect. needed a bit more bright sun, and a bit less haze in the atmosphere.
oh and a few more boats on the pond wouldn't have hurt :lol3 i really dig how the clouds in number 3, and number 2, look like the alien spacehips from independece day the movie :D
thanks sid!

:wave hi there, seaelven :D nice to meet you. thanks for the kind words, and for stopping by. some cameras are more adept at ir than others.. e.g. sony's 7x7 and 828 series, can do it quite well with just an infrared filter and an nd-filter. what i did, is have an old 300d dslr permanently converted to record infrared light only - you can find out more by following the link at the bottome of my first post in this thread :D
here's one more, worked up a bit differently. man, i just love the controls i have by shooting in raw and working it out in camera raw! thanks to rutt for going thru a few new steps with me last night :thumb

lovely shots andy, especially the middle one.
I'd apreciate it if you could stop posting IR shots for a while, I've spent quite enough lately & you're not helping :rofl

Another jaw on the floor here! Fantastic..
I'm going to have to dig out my IR filter if we ever get any sunshine up this way. It's been non-stop rain up this way..

Andy,
Beautiful shots!
Question: What sort of shutter speeds (and f-stops) are you needing to use with bright day shots like these? I know that with external IR filters, sometimes looong shutter speeds are necessary. I'm assuming that the mod'ed dslr's experience similar light gathering requirements?

Yep, the middle one :thumb :thumb
How could you even consider parting with the 10-22mm, after a pic like this one? Yeah, I know, you've withdrawn it :clap I love IR and I love wide angle landscapes. The 10-22mm gives you superwide IR :lust
