View Full Version : withdrawn: canon 10-22 ef-s *mint*

Andy

ok you all know about this lens - what a treat it is to shoot with! i have an absolutely mint copy, about three months old. it comes with box, rear and front caps, and the elusive canon ew-83 lens hood (sells for $34, and is *not* included with the lens from canon!).

to purchase new, you'd pay approx $799 from a reputable dealer and another $34 for the hood, plus any shipping costs.

my price: $750, which includes the lens and the hood, and shipping within conus.

payment terms: cash, personal check, usps money order, bank check, or paypal ($10 fee to use payal).

buy with confidence, i have a 100% positive transaction record here on dgrin (check the feedback thread, username=andy).

You could buy a new one for 799 from a reputable place. :dunno

hi chase :wave

yup, if it can be found, it goes for $799, +$34 for the hood so that's $833, plus let's say $10 for shipping so that's $843... vs. $750 (my price that includes a hood and shipping).

btw, if you have a question about the pricing, the cool thing to do is to pm the seller...

in any case, my price is my price. the market will decide if it's fair, or not :deal.

cheers

With the amount of glass (or anything else) Andy buys and sells here and at over at FM he's probably more reputable than any store you could find. And as Andy knows what he is doing and has never had a dissatisfied lens buyer you can be sure the glass is in A+ shape.

But like Andy said, that's without shipping, and without the hood. Trust me, outdoors on a sunny day, you'll want the hood. I haven't been able to find one yet myself. Between those two things, you're saving at least another $45.

Not to mention when Andy says something is mint, it's mint. If I didn't already have one, I'd buy it.

How about selling my just the hood?:D

Andy
May-25-2005, 08:17 PM
... i decided yesterday to withdraw this for sale, at least temporarily... i'm going to use it with my ir-modded rebel.

i'm getting my 16-35L back from windoze (yay!) and i'll also be trying that on the ir-mod. if i can get by with just the 16-35L, then i'll put the 10-22 up for sale again, as i can get the full 16-35 fov on my 1Ds Mark II... so the deciding factor will be if i can live with the 16mm x 1.6 fov factor on the ir-modded rebel... we'll see :deal

Price police get out of hand really quickly, Chase. As I'm sure you've seen at FM, the self-righteousness of some folks hijacks threads.

Ripoffs and scams are an entirely different matter to a simple question of pricing. The seller sets the price. If someone's agreeable, they buy it. If they're not, they negotiate via PMs/e-mail. The price really isn't anyone else's bidness, since they're not buyers.

If the thread is obviously a scam, or the seller has run scams in the past, that's the time to say something in the thread. Likewise, if someone has had a good experience with the seller, it's appropriate to post a note saying so.

:clap :clap :clap Withdrawn !! I am still in the running for it, somewhere down the road :D

I think you are going to find that the 16-35mm probably won't be wide enough for your modded DR. A 26mm FOV isn't all that wide, IMHO. Although that lens should be killer on the 1Ds MKII (which you already knew....lol).

I've always thought that the 10-22mm would be a perfect IR landscape zoom. I've never used it, so I may be wrong :dunno But, like PF, if I were going the modded DR route, that would be one of the first lenses I'd consider. Is there somethin' we don't know here Andy?

BTW, congrats on the 1Ds MkII, again....lol Did you sell the 1Ds already?
