Excuse me if I sound dumb. I was wondering if by adding the EP-EX15 eyepiece extender to my 50D changes anything since my eye is now further from the end of the lens. Hope this makes sense. It's a little difficult to describe what I'm asking.:scratch

Not dumb at all! It should help with eye relief, but if will make the viewfinder view somewhat smaller, apparently by 30%. Here's a quick link to a review:
