Here's my crop of shots from this weekend. Unfortunately, the metering in my camera was screwed up and so I had to do the whole shoot manual. I was so mad! At first I thought it was the firmware upgrade, but when I got home I took my lens of and put it back on and pulled the battery out and the metering started working again! All's well that ends well I guess.

Hey Ian,
Excellent shots especially when you consider that you were shooting manually. :clap
I have had the same problem especially when I have been using my 1.4 TC. Its has always been due to the contacts of the lens or TC being a bit dusty. Usually I just remove and remount the lens or TC. If it persists I wipe the contacts with a lens cloth and that always takes care of the problem.

Thanks Harry. Yep, I just bought a 2.0 TC and was puting it through the paces. Boy I'll tell ya, I was pretty upset, I thought I was going to have to send the camera in!!

The second is a nice shot. I like the preening (sp?), sharp detail and
eye in that one.

Thanks Ben, I was busy snapping away and these kids came up and chased them into the water, luckily I got this shot in the process...

Thanks Ian, Yeah, I was surprized how much color the camera picked up off the beak, especially in the shadows.
Pardon my lack of knowledge, I'm kind of new to the whole buletin board thing, what does "(sp?)" mean?

"sp?" is short for "spelling" as in I might have a spelling error.

Nice series of pelicans.:thumb
All were shot in sunlight, right? So the exposure should be almost the same for all of them, maybe?? Good experience shooting in manual in the sunlight then :D
I suspect (sp) refers to a question about spelling, probably.

Thanks for the compliment, Yep, light clouds made for slight variance in exposure but it was no more than an f stop or two. I definitely had to stop it down for the water shots cause the water reflected a bit more light.

Thanks Susan, Got lucky on this one, I had quite a few action shots, this was one of about 30 that was actually worth posting.
