They look good, but I think these must be right off the camera. I set a black point on the red guys shorts and a white point on the white players jersey and then made a slight curves adjustment to boost contrast on the players. Added a little USM (15 intensity - would increase radius for the original file). It looks like it pops a bit more to me.

All adjustments made in Capture NX (I think that's what you are using)

Wow, I see what you are saying. I have almost exclusively been focusing on the camera side. I need to spend some time on the post processing. I get so frustrated when I try to tinker with the photos. All I have been doing is Noise Ninja and USM.
But... I see the advantages of playing with this more. I will definitely read how to make the photos "pop."

Mark, sean gave you the quick and dirty version! Set the white point and black point then you can play with mids a bit if you like. ALWAYS sharpen the pics you are going to show someone else!
