Hello DGrinners,

On my site I have 'SHOWROOM' as my main galleries page and 'CLIENT GALLERIES' as my Category with the galleries within being subcategories. Although I have these additional galleries, I'd like to keep them public but also not viewable on the main galleries page.

I made them unlisted and thought that since there is a direct link to the Categories, they'd only show up there but they don't.

Any ideas?

Unlisted galleries will only show for a visitor if you give a direct link to the gallery. They don't show on homepage or in categories. You can simulate a category with several unlisted galleries in it by using a sharegroup if that would help.

Sharegroup... hmm, I'll have to search that one. It sounds like a winner.

I created a sharegroup and although I put the two galleries unlisted, they are still visible on the public main galleries page. :dunno

They will only show for you logged in.

I wish that were true, unfortunately it is not. I am still able to see the two galleries that are unlisted.
You can see for yourself that the two galleries under 'Client Galleries' are also under 'Showroom' which is the main galleries page.

You can see for yourself that the two galleries under 'Client Galleries' are also under 'Showroom' which is the main galleries page. They show up there only after you've visited the sharegroup URL. Those two galleries do not show up in your showroom page if the user has not visited the sharegroup. Once they have visited the sharegroup, they do show up. That's how sharegroups work. Now that we understand what you are trying to do, I don't think sharegroups will work for you.

What I would suggest is that you laeve the galleries as unlisted. Get rid of the sharegroup and then create an HTML only page for Client Galleries where you list whatever unlisted galleries you want. By avoiding sharegroups, those unlisted galleries will never show in your galleries page (except when you are logged in). And, with your own HTML page, you can put anything you want in the client galleries page.

Great thanks. Now I need to know how to do just that.
Care to lend some assistance?
I can do some of the <> and </> but I'm not sure how I can make it look like the default Smugmug type with the thumbnail pics and whatnot.
