help on about me page and photo

i have a photo with my text. can you tell me why i can see the photo and the text, but when i am logged out, I can only see the text and not the photo?

i must have goofed somewhere recently, as i and others could see it before.

One of these is probably causing the problem:

The gallery the image is in isn't enabled for external linking
The image is marked [x] Hidden in the gallery
The gallery the image is in has a passwordUsually, it's item #2. When logged in, you have permission to view it. When not logged in, you don't.

jfriend, i know i is not 1 or 3

but i'm not too sure what you mean for #2 --- i have privacy as unlisted and hide owner set as no ... (but if i remember correctly, i have always had it this way and it was visible) ...

the only other think i can think of, is the other night i wanted to see the difference between journal and critique ... but quickly changed it back to journal. could have this mucked it up?

okay, but let me clarify, i have:

"hide owner" and it gives an option of yes or no
and i have it set to NO .... this is in the tools and customize gallery


so by going by that page http://www.smugmug.com/help/hide-photos how can i see the 'photo only' to see if that box under the picture is checked to hide photo ... ? so what i am asking, is how can i get into this gallery of pictures only to see if i have to make the necessary changes. because when i click on that gallery it takes me to the about page.

i hope this makes sense. lol ..

The setting we are talking about has nothing to do with hide owner in customize gallery. This setting is under the individual image in the gallery.

Login. Go to the gallery where that image is located. Set your gallery view to the Smugmug viewing style. Select the thumb for that image. Then, just look under the image for the [ ] Hide Photo box like shown in this screenshot and make sure it is unchecked:

okay, i changed the photo, and i can now see it when i am NOT logged in (dunno how that other photo got mucked up) ....

anyway, now on my about page further down it says

This is a brand new gallery with no photos.



so i will work on this to see if i can correct this problem ...

i still can't figure out where that original photo went to, as i could see it, but i could not see it in another gallery. and gawd knows how that .gallery_6734407 .nophotos {display:none;} vanished in my ccs, as i know it was there before ........... regardless, things are back where they should be,
