A teacher of my in school used to have a pin-hole adapter for his Nikon film body camera. It replicates the ideals of using the old pin-hole cameras, but being able to put it on a film body camera. He thought that it wasn't possible to put on a dSLR, but most certainly on a SLR as he's done it for years.

Has anyone heard of this? Does anyone know where one would get one of these? Are there good or bad ones? How do they work?

I was told the "pin-hole" is the aperture size of a f/256, wow, tiny. Does anyone know if it is possible to make a larger hole to control the DOF a little more instead of ALWAYS have a SUPER wide DOF?

Anyways...any info would be great.

Crop camera imagers do not make good candidates for pinhole photography. The problem is that as the pinhole is made appropriately smaller for the smaller imager size, diffraction effects take their toll on image quality. Good pinhole images (IMO) come from large format film sizes.

I created my own pinhole using tried and true construction methods and tested it here:

I have never purchased a commercial pinhole, but if you want a commercial, laser cut pinhole, I believe a good source might be:
