I have never seen a worse looking heron. Usually a beautiful bird! A poster worthy of refrigerators everywhere with an appopriate statement written.

Maybe this the bird who sat on the nest since Dixie was here, a month or two ago. He/she does look like there has been a weight loss, probably not as much of a cause for pleasure in the bird world.

I just wanted to share this. Some photos I just had to work up. g

Hey, thanks for already looking you all.

If my camera can hold out, and if the mother does not do them in, or give them away first, we are going to watch them grow!

Mine probably looked like Harry's when they first "came out" of the egg. I am thinking that herons are both one good looking bird, but when they look bad, they do that well, too.
