Hi everyone,

I'm in need of some assistance with a caption for a photo that I'm submitting tomorrow for an exhibit. The theme of the exhibit is centered around the Delaware and Raritan canal (in NJ), which is celebrating its 175th anniversary this year. My husband and I wracked our brains a bit over this and the ones we were able to come up with sounded very cliche. :sick

Help! :help

Here's the photo:

Thanks! :lust

How about a Beatles song title: The Long And Winding Road.

Movie title: The Water Front.

or something along those lines.

First: what an absolutely GORGEOUS photograph.

Second: why not just keep it simple and call it "Tow Path"?

Wow. That is GORGEOUS, Linda. :bow

I think I'm too late, but my suggestion would have been...

"Along the Towpath"

The title would keep with the history of the Canal itself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delaware_and_Raritan_Canal

"When the canal first opened, teams of mules were used to tow canal boats through it (the steam engine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steam_engine) had not yet been introduced). The first steam ships were employed circa 1843."

Just a thought. Great picture by the way. Good luck with the exhibit!

Thanks, Tom. :thumb You know, that was my original idea. :rofl When I mentioned it to my husband he looked at the photo more closely and said the caption should be more creative because of the mystery behind the man walking along the towpath. Everything we came up with sounded very cliche so I turned Dgrin for ideas. I wound up using "Walking Home" for the caption. :wink The exhibit opens on Friday.

Really, really, nice image. It also fits very nicely with your recently developed post processing style.

"Down By The River."
