Turkeys can fly. Staking out a flock going to roost. Taken after sundown captured a bunch with just a few keepers. Have tried to get these before but have only gotten blurs The new f2 lens really makes the difference. Now I need to get my new Christmas present adjusted and working, my wonderful wife bought SB-900 flash and Better Beamer

Turkey...it's what's for dinner?
Were you able to take it home? It looks delicious!

I think it was Carlson who needed to be vindicated :) Great flight shot of that turkey ... don't see that very often!

Great capture on the first one. I love the irridescence shown in the last one.

Kurt now that I think of it you are right. It was a classic episode of that show, but then I am dating myself.
I am going to try again with these birds with flash to see if I can get them at takeoff. All of those turned out dark and noisy. The takeoff is the most entertaining part, well next to the clumsy landings in the trees when some fall off the branches. Very entertaining.
Thanks for the comments

It's definitely Mr. Carlson that gets the vindication here, Les was an semi-innocent party in the fiasco. A hilarious episode - I really miss the show, but I can catch it once in a while on syndication!
Nice shots - I really like all of them.

Very nice turkey pics. They are actually strong flyers but they just do not do it that often. I remember in Nov of 2007 I was at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge on the Central Texas Coast and I must have seen 15 turkeys roosting in one huge oak. It was quite a sight.
