Trying to do some hard light SP with some color, but I'm in desperate need of some strobes and gels to get the look I'm really going for. This is done with two lamps camera left, one has a black light bulb that shows up blue. Pretty much straight out of the camera except for a slight crop.
All C&C welcome, thanks!

I kinda like this low key feel you've got going on in this photo. The bright blue that abruptly turns to black in the corner I find distracting. Did you add a vignette, or is that just how the light fell?

That's just how the light fell, my goal was to get an all blue background but the light just wasn't strong enough. :dunno

I like the low key feel as well and I'm liking the pose. :) I wish I could see your left eye just a touch though.

I'm really liking the splash of blue in the left corner! The pose and composition are exceptionally good as well. I think that a wee bit of fill is called for on your face but you did a killer job with what you had available! :clap

Wow, thank you very much. I definitely hope to have more fill next time.

That's exactly what I thought! But maybe thinner.

Putting the black light behind you may have helped with the background... how far away was it from the wall or whatever it's lighting?

It was about 8 inches from the wall and behind me camera left.

What happens when you twiddle with curves and contrast? I'm liking the moody blues and the pose, it's just a wee bit flat, which I think may be as much processing as the lighting.
I think it's a neat picture - I'm especially impressed with how you've managed to get an "underlit" look (from below) without losing nice balanced contouring shadows. :thumb
