Questions about viewing photos

Sometimes when I view another person's gallery, I select All Thumbs as my viewing choice. But when I click on one of the photos to view it, I get a HUGE photo - the picture is so big I can't see the whole thing on my screen. I have to scroll up and down and side to side. This seems bizarre. Is this how it's supposed to work?

Also, how can I set a default viewing choice? For example, if I want others to view my photos with a default of "All Thumbs", can this be done? Of course, I realize they can change it, but that's okay. I just want them to initially view it in the "All Thumbs" mode. And how can I ensure that the situation that I described in the first paragraph, doesn't happen to people when they view my galleries in "All Thumbs"?

To change your personal preferences on how images are displayed go to the bottom of the picture where it says "Your preferred picture size is Original. Make it" with a drop down list and choose something besides Original.

It'll be the default for all pictures.
