Humungus,
Glad I was able to help.
That is one great picture (or should that be two great pictures? :dunno) you've got there. The color correction adds a nice touch.
The hardest part of stitching the images together was the fact that the waves moved between the two exposures! I had to hack that together, but otherwise it wasn't too bad. By the way, did you know that there is a Photo Merge utility built into Photoshop CS??? That's the tool I wound up using here.
If I'm ever in the neighborhood I'll take you up on that beer!

I hope Mr. RotWL doesn't mind me responding to this, but since I've got copies of his originals...
Olympus C-5050Z
Program Exposure Mode
1/40th sec @ f1.8 (that's one fast digicam!)
ISO 64
35mm equivalent focal length is 35mm
Thanks cletus...i looked them up but didnt believe the figures. How is it so fast in such low light ? I thought it would have been at least a second :dunno
The more i lean about photography the more i realize how little i know.
Oh..i forgot max.
My tripod was a 4 litre box monster.

I've done a number of large scale image stitching projects and have used panavue (http://www.panavue.com) with great results. I also encountered the wave problem. Panavue gives manual override in the form of manual stitching points.
My most challenging stitching project is here. (http://gate.chezrutt.com:8030/rutt/photos/room10/)
good link rutt....even found a pic a few hundred yards from my joint.
My old boat that we lived on in this spot for a couple of years is on the far right.
