a slight thaw this morning i managed to find a couple of baby springtails,about 3/4 mm in length!
shot x5 & cropped slightly
wish i could find something bigger to shoot!

Nice ones Phil. I always find black critters hard to shoot and maintain the level of detail I would like. I think it will be a while before we get any more bugs here.

LOvely springtail captures- assume these are a similar size to the ones I see- always less than 1mm body length?

Great captures Phil. Tell me where do you look for these guys? As I take it we have them just over the border here in Scotland.

I am simply in awe when I see pictures like these. The level of magnification is astounding and the detail is terrific. These are some very cool pictures!
