Shot these at Skansen (www.skansen.se (http://www.skansen.se/)), a zoo and cultural place in Stockholm / Sweden. I happend to stumble in there just as they was about to feed the birds, pure luck. It was very fascinating, that bird sure is majestic!
I hope you like them!

Hey Matty - these are pretty cool. I'm amazed that the owl "came out to play" like that.

I was just lucky to come around at "lunchtime". Otherwise birds like this have a tendency to play hide and seek all day long. *Haha*
How do I make the pictures show instead of just the links?

Thanks Matty :D I really like that gull shot too. I tried to do something similar to Norman Rich's eagle landing shot :clap

After spending 20+ years being the family photographer, I am finally getting a chance to shoot things I want to shoot. I enjoy birds because of the colors, actions and detail they display. Not to mention the lighting challenges and the challenge of capturing birds in flight. Plus, they are never upset when you take a shot of them. Unlike some people....lol

I'd just love to have an opportunity like you had to shoot a beautiful bird of prey that close :lust

Matty, great series. :clap

That second shot looks as if the owl is about to attack that woman! And those owl legs! My gosh, they look like the legs of a cat, or something.

Good job there getting that BIF, too.

I just couldn't believe the size of it when it came gliding through the air. So awesome! I think this shoot awakened a little interest for wildlife photography in me. I bet shooting pics like this in the wild must be extraordinary! Hmm... lemme see.... 1 spouse who doesn't care for wildlife, 2 small kids..... this, shooting wildlife, isn't gonna happen in the next few years, what do ya recon? *Hahaha*

Thanx for fixing my links - again! I'll get the hang of it soon, I promise ya! :wink

PS: Thanx again for helping me into the world of Dslr! It's SO MUCH FUN!

Excellent, especially the first two shots! I love the feel of the bird flying through a crowd of people. And he's downright scary in the second pic. :clap

Yeah! I couldn't believe my eyes when he came strolling - never seen owl legs before.

Yes, that's good - who cares what camera you use, it's the result that's count. I think Phil wrote and forbid els but SONY-related images/talk in the STF the other day. *Pitty*
