My girlfriend has this website that I want to copy as she is closing down her site. She has sent me all the files for it, etc as it was a template. I know I can't transfer a template to here, but can I customize a smugmug site to look like hers using some of the info from her website "background"? Is this going to be a task way over my head as I am not familiar with html/css? I can't afford to hire someone to do it for me, but I really want to learn and have this look. Oh and I want to keep smugmugs layout for photos in galleries, but would like to keep her look for the list of galleries on the galleries page if possible??? Her website is:

Thank you all!! :)

SmugMug works well with the navbar across the top of the screen (or the bottom). It does not work well with a navbar on the side and does not really support using frames. In fact, SmugMug-style galleries stretch to the full width of the browser window.
If you want to replicate the looks of her Galleries page, you can do that with an HTML-only page. That means that instead of SmugMug automatically updating your galleries page, when you add a gallery you will also need to add it to your HTML-only page. That's certainly do-able, but you should understand the work you are making for yourself if you decide to go that way. (My Recent Galleries page is an example of an HTML-only page that appears to have the format you are looking for on your galleries page - http://www.denisegoldberg.com/gallery/3137264_NGWFU - but again, think long & hard before you go that route. You will need to use HTML to create a look like that.)
I believe you would be much better off using the capabilities built in to SmugMug. Decide on the look & feel of your site, and implement that either by customizing your site with CSS or by choosing one of the existing themes.
More on themes at http://www.smugmug.com/help/apply-themes.
Take a look at the information linked from the >>> CUSTOMIZATION: Start Here <<< sticky at the head of this forum - http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=52812.
You might want to look at this page to see some sites that were implemented using SmugMug themes or customization - http://dgrin.smugmug.com/gallery/1801307#118526631_q8xD5. Or follow the links on peoples' signatures here on dgrin to get some more ideas.

Thank you Denise for your response and info. I have looked around and I have been with Smugmug before in the past many years ago. I like the ease of the site, but I really want to keep as much as possible of my girlfriends site colors, logo, etc. Its really my logo that I let her use. :) I want to use the gallery photos of a gallery smugmug style for the ease of it. Can I keep the color scheme of her site?
I have looked at the website samples of what can be done and known of them suite me.
Thanks again.

You can certainly use the logo and the colors of the site, but you will need to use CSS to set both. I'd recommend starting with this tutorial - http://dgrin.smugmug.com/gallery/2160039.
