Those are all terrific pictures, wow! The details! I once witnessed a crow pursuing a red-tailed hawk but my lens wasn't powerful enough and it was happening very high in the sky. These were taken with my first Digi Rebel, the EOS 300D and the lens was the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM. I had just gotten the camera so there was a lot of PHD (Push Here Dummy) settings in there. :rofl

This was an easy picture to take. Chickadees are fairly easy to "domesticate". Event though in provincial parks it is illegal to feed wildlife, visitors do just that to the point where these birds fly to your hand if you have it open! This was taken in Mont Saint-Bruno park in the very last week or so of snow on the ground. A friend and I found some bird seeds along the path, on the snow...

The camera I used was the Canon Digital Rebel EOS 300D, one of the last pictures I took before selling it to friends so I could buy myself the EOS 350D (Digi Rebel XT).

Well done!:thumb if you want these shots you need to go to a place and spend time watch were the birds go [like Harry the tree]and then wait and wait and wait then come back with food :D really you get a feeling and the birds soon get use to you and that takes time, move slow

It's only a question of experience and experimenting! :D you need to start a new thread --and yes you get tips from the very nice folks here , you shoot a lot get a feel for the camera ,what it will do and will not do:scratch and as Harry was so kind to say ,thanks Harry ,my shots have gotten better , You can take classes ref: local camera shop ect . then work at it . Post your pic in a new thread so we can see it not everone looks at the comments to old threads :thumb and then we all can pick on you :D :rofl

I can understand pulling the lens back, except I shoot with a 300, and it is that and nothing else, except with extenders, no zoom.

I have been tempted to shoot with my wide angle to get the entire sky. Figure the bird would be in it somewhere.

I love the photos, along with the copy.

Was the first one, was it an earlier one. Are you the one who broke a camera getting that shot, or was that someone else.

That shot is almost worth a camera..........sure wish I had insurance.

ginger (I do have a fight between a hawk and a smaller bird. Good photo, it is somewhere. That was when I had "inferior" equipment. There were fights yesterday. Along about night coming on time fights break out at the rookery. I just don't get them, it is the focus that is killing me. The extenders, perhaps, are slowing my AF in my "superior" equipment. I wil be posting a few from yesterday, I think. When I get a chance to even work it up.)

:rofl , as an aside, what is the etiquette of one bumping one's own photo and giving it stars, too. I am considering that dirty deed, my own bump.:uhoh You don't know about the shot, so don't worry, it got buried.:D
