I think there's something wrong with my camera.
I been having this problem since yesterday and it kinda worried me.
I have canon rebel XTi, and every time I snap a picture the screen goes black for a long time and stays like that too. (the screen where you see your pictures after you snap a picture), and it doesn't show anything too. I only can take a pictures like 2 times then the third times it happened.
and yesterday I also just recently reformatted my CF. And I think it happened ever since i changed the lens to regular lens (18-55 IS).
ugh I don't really wanna lose my precious camera :(
help please? thanks and appreciate it.

Have you tried simple troubleshooting steps? You know what has changed since the problem started so...

1. Remove the CF card and reinsert. Test Camera.

If problem still exists...

2. Remove camera lens and reattach. Test Camera.

If problem still exists...

3. Remove CF card and install a different one (assuming you have another one). Test Camera.

If problem still exists...

4. Remove camera lens and attach a different one. Test Camera.

If problem still exists...

:dunno At that point there may be something wrong with the camera itself, and your next step would be to head to the local camera shop.

Figure out how to reset the camera to factory settings. Sounds like you are in mirror up mode.

Good point Ekaj. Definitely try that before heading to the camera shop.

No I'm not in a mirror up mode.
Even when I turn off the camera when that problem persists while the picture is being processed which takes forever, the 'on' light still stays on. so eventually I forced to turn it off by removing the battery.
ugh I'm really worried and wolftep I'm going to do what you say.
i'll post back and see how it goes

You can try to isolate the problem to the card also by turning "shoot w/o card" on and taking some shots to test with an empty card slot. This will bypass recording the data completely.
