Hello,
I have recently joined Smugmug and have just finished with the beginning portion of my website. I have had multiple people comment that they can view my home page but when they click on a specific gallery, the page only loads a blank black screen. Can someone help me figure this out?

Welcome to Smugmug and Dgrin!
I can see your galleries. Which ones couldn't be seen?
ps., this will most likely be moved to the support area.

I have this happen to my pages as well on occasion. Not sure why it happens. Tell them to hit the refresh button. This usually solves it for me.

It might be their cache or something because I can see the gallery!

I just asked a friend to try and open it, and for some reason he could not either. He said that the engagement link would not even load.
Is there some sort of security screening that takes place or is Smugmug blocked by certain servers?
This is now four people that could not look at the engagement site
Also what do you mean it might be the cache? Is there a way that I can fix that?

Welcome - if they can't see this:
http://www.natalielanephotography.com/gallery/6726670_aJbBm#429595956_b2UEX
they probably have javascript turned off, or maybe they are at work where they block photo sites.
Ask if they can see a page like this

None of your galleries (like this one (http://www.natalielanephotography.com/gallery/6726670_aJbBm#429595956_b2UEX)) show for me in IE7. It appear like you have some serious customizing errors that are causing this. Here are some things to fix:
For your header/nabar, you are missing two closing DIVs (every div tag must have a matching closing div):
Add the part in red:
<div align="center">
<div id="my_banner"> </div>
<div align="center">
<div id="navcontainer">
<ul>
<li><a href="/">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="/Bridal Portraits">Weddings</a></li>
<li><a href="/Engagement">Engagements</a></li>
<li><a href="/gallery/6728164_euAPL">Landscapes</a></li>
<li><a href="/Family">Family</a></li>
<li><a href="/gallery/6736497_MV5Qn">Guestbook</a></li>
<li><a href="http://natalielanephotography.blogspot.com/">Blog</a></li>
</ul>
</div>
</div></div>
Similarly, your div tags are messed up in your footer too. For every <div> tag you start, you must have exactly one closing </div> tag in your footer. I will leave you to fix that one yourself as I can't quite tell what you're trying to do in the footer.
After you fix these, we can look again to see if your galleries work in IE7.

I tried your site in Firefox, which has a cookie for dgrin, and your site works fine. I then tried it in Internet Explorer, which I don't use for much, and I get a blank for http://www.natalielane.smugmug.com/Engagement
Could it be permission related?

So I have also confirmed that Explorer is the problem, but How do I fix this? I have already changed my default setting to "allow all cookies" and the site still will not load.

Okay,
So your suggestions worked and now I can see all of my galleries on IE7!!!
In making my adjustments I went a little over board on the <div>'s and have since messed up the format that I would like on the home page. I tried to go back and fix it and I also started from scratch, but I could not fix the format while still having the site work on IE7. Thanks so far for all of your help, I am truly grateful.

Scratch that, I was able to get my format back! And now the site works on Internet Explorer. Thank you very much for your help. One more quick question.
On my slide show on my home page when I click on any of the pictures it links to Smugmug's home page. How can I get it to link to the gallery that the picture is located, or maybe link to a page where someone can buy the photo that they clicked on?

This line of your slideshow defintion determines where a click on the slideshow goes. Just fill in the URL of a gallery you'd like to go to.

I just recently had help installing a second banner for my Engagement Category. It works great with Mozilla, however the banner is not showing up on Explorer. Here is the link: http://natalielane.smugmug.com/Engagement
Here is what I have so far.
#my_banner {
width: 750px;
height: 150px;
margin: 0 auto;
background: url(http://natalielane.smugmug.com/photos/437199975_VWreU-L.png) no-repeat;
_background: none;
_filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaIma geLoader(enabled=true,sizingmethod=image,src='http ://natalielane.smugmug.com/photos/437199975_VWreU-L.png');
}
.category_Engagement #my_banner {
display: block;
background: url(http://natalielane.smugmug.com/photos/437213696_Pkjbs-L.jpg) no-repeat;

I see a number of errors in your page. I'm not sure which ones are causing the different behavior in IE, but you need to fix the errors before we can find out for sure.
Somewhere in your customization, you've entered this code:
<div id="mymusic">
<div style="text-align: center; margin-left: auto; visibility:visible; margin-right: auto; width:5px;"><embed style="width:5px; visibility:visible; height:5px;" allowScriptAccess="never" src="http://www.greatprofilemusic.com/mc/mp3player-othersite.swf?config=http://www.greatprofilemusic.com/mc/config/config_black.xml&mywidth=435&myheight=270&playlist_url=http://www.greatprofilemusic.com/loadplaylist.php?playlist=54555102" menu="false" quality="high" width="435" height="270" name="mp3player" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
</div></div>
First, I think you've put it in the wrong customization box. You should probably put it in either your Custom Header or Custom Footer.
Second, the <embed> tag in this HTML doesn't have a closing > mark to end it.
Then, in your header, you don't have matching <div> </div> tags. You appear to have two extra </div> tags which is really messing up the structure of your page.
Remove the two </div> tags in red:
<div align="center">
<div id="my_banner"> </div>
<div align="center">
<div id="navcontainer">
<ul>
<li><a href="/">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="/Bridal Portraits">Weddings</a></li>
<li><a href="/Engagement">Engagements</a></li>
<li><a href="/gallery/6728164_euAPL">Landscapes</a></li>
<li><a href="/Family">Family</a></li>
<li><a href="/gallery/6736497_MV5Qn">Guestbook</a></li>
<li><a href="http://natalielanephotography.blogspot.com/">Blog</a></li></div></div>
</ul>
</div>
</div></div>
Now, in your footer you are missing two closing </div> tags. You MUST have one and only one matching </div> tag for every <div> that you add to any of the individual customization sections. Your need to add the two </div> tags in red below:
<div align="center">
<a href="mailto:reid890@gmail.com">Email Me</a>
<h4>301-351-9860</h4></div>
<div align="center">
<div align="center">
<a href="http://www.forthepeople.com">
<img src="http://www.countvisitors.com/mastercounter.cfm?id=1872" alt="Personal Injury Attorney" />
</a><br />
</div>
</div></div>
Then, in your CSS for #my_banner why are you using "_background:none;"? That is killing the header in older versions of IE. It seems to me that you should take that out.
After you make these changes, we can look again and see what is left to make it work.

Okay I looked at everything you said, and I think I made the necessary changes. However, when I went back to IE to see if it fixed the problem, the engagement page would go back to be an entirely blank black screen. So I put the </div></div> back in the header where it was originally.
Any more suggestions?

You probably have some other error that is probably interacting with this first one. If you can let me look at the page on IE with these divs removed, I can probably figure out why it isn't working, but I can't solve the issue if you leave them in. They don't belong there and are messing up the page structure.
Also, please fix the other issues related to your music code. They could also be causing some of this. That code is in the wrong place in your customization and you are missing > at the end of the embed tag. I spelled out the details in my previous post.
We can fix this, but you have to fix the errors we see so we can get to the next round of errors even if it means that the page is temporarily in a worse visual state.

Here's another thing to fix in addition to the two I just mentioned. In your Top Javascript, you have some invalid javascript that could cause galleries to stop rendering.
You need to remove this from your Top Javascript:
<script> language="javascript">
images = new Array(10);
images[0] = "<http://natalielane.smugmug.com/photos/437150926_CrpyG-L.png' alt='one' width='120' height='120' border='0' />";
I don't know what you were trying to do with this code, but there are a bunch of things wrong with it. You don't put <script> tags in the javascript area and the code itself seems incomplete.

I'm seeing the second banner in the engagement category in both FF3 and IE7. Is that not working for you? Perhaps clear your browser cache?
http://content.screencast.com/users/jfriend/folders/Jing/media/afb9faa5-6617-47cc-a2dd-f332f7b489c6/2008-12-16_0906.png
Now, when you cleaned up the javascript in your top javascript, you deleted a brace that you needed so you created another javascript error. But, now I see you already have this code in your Bottom Javascript so you should just delete everything from your Top Javascript.
Your music stuff is showing funny because you have:
<div <id="mymusic">
instead of:
<div id="mymusic">
Also, please put a closing > character at the end of the embed tag in your music stuff. It's really long so I won't repeat it all here, but you need to add the closing > in red:
height="270" name="mp3player" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" >

Sorry to hijack a thread, but would you mind also checking my site. I also received some reports that they could n't view my site. I figurted it was a flash install issue though.
Could youy see if I have any issues that need to be addressed?

Your slideshow does not work for me. I don't know exactly what is wrong. You should check the AlbumID and try removing the splash image. I think the splash image is not viewable by the public.
