Tonight I went down to the strip and hung out with my buddy. We stopped by the good ol' Treasure Island and I wanted to take some pictures of somethin' so I decided to have at it. I remembered how when I first got into photography last year and bought a Sony 828, I had no idea what to go shoot, so I went to the Treasure Island and took pictures. The following is a comparison between ultra beginner and regular beginner. :) I'm happy that I've improved.

that really is some improvment.
Is any of this down to post-processing work or just plain learning how to use the lighting & zoom? And obviously your timing and ability to 'see' the shot has improved imeasurably.

it's so satisfying to see improvement isn't it? I've done the same over the past 6 months I think. I just went through my gallery a couple of weeks ago and took down some shots that were so technically horriffic and had no humor or story value to them whatsoever.
those shots are really sublime! :clap

That last one has a great feel to it. The reds set off her pose perfectly.
Great job with the whole set, jk. :thumb

Can you see your main difference?
A) Better camera. Handled scene/colors better at high ISO.
B) You got in closer.
Good job!

Adrian, thank you! It's a mixture of everything but it's not like these pics looked like crap before my post processing. :) The ability to read a histogram for exposure is much improved, my timing, composition, expressions, sharpness, quality of camera and lens, etc. is all of much higher quality,
Yuri, thank you so much! I'm glad you find them to be of the utmost quality. :)
DF, yes it is! It's great to look back and say, "Wow, I thought THAT was a good shot???" :)
Thanks!
ride, thank you! I really like the lighting and color of the last.
Andy, thanks! I like living in Vegas. :)
Sid, thank you! Closer= better for sure!
Dragon, ya, move here! There's lots of dirt to take pics of. :)
Chewy, yep, high ISO performance and (at times) some image stabilization really helped. Being able to simplify the scene is good to learn. Thanks, brudda!
David, thank ya very much. I love shooting the Bellagio. The fountain in front of the Paris is very nice to photograph as well. :)
