I'll have to show my ignorance here. I don't know what a Dragan effect is, so I doubt this is it.

I think this is a nice portrait that really captures the blacksmith's concentration on this task. I like the fact that, even though I imagine the light on some parts of the image were much dimmer than that on the man's face, everything is clear and appears to be pretty well exposed.

I like your image. What sort of processing did you do? I think this is a nice portrait that really captures the blacksmith's concentration on this task. I like the fact that, even though I imagine the light on some parts of the image were much dimmer than that on the man's face, everything is clear and appears to be pretty well exposed.

Blacksmith's are hard to find now days, at least for me. I just tried to capture his craft as best I could with no setup or lights. --- I developed this "process" for use in some of my art gallery work.

Actually, this blacksmith just acquired the shop (which is local to me), and is in the process of outfitting it to full capacity, equipment wise. I spoke with him for quite some time and will schedule a full "shoot" when he gets the shop in order. I'd like that. Maybe I can help in some small way bring back a piece of the past.
