Randy I like the shot, but the mans skin doesn't look right :scratch
His left arm, right arm and face look blotchy and too smooth in some areas.

Skippy,

Heavily processed, not intended to look like regular photograph. Are they all supposed too? :scratch

Thanks for looking, and as always, I appreciate the feedback :thumb

Thanks Azzaro,

I'll have to show my ignorance here. I don't know what a Dragan effect is, so I doubt this is it.

I really like this image and the processing really fits the "rough" subject. I wonder if a little grain would add to it or detract? :scratch Regardless, great image.

Thanks Travis,

I'll give it a whirl and see what it looks like.

Thanks for looking, and as always, I appreciate the feedback :thumbI like your image. What sort of processing did you do? I think this is a nice portrait that really captures the blacksmith's concentration on this task. I like the fact that, even though I imagine the light on some parts of the image were much dimmer than that on the man's face, everything is clear and appears to be pretty well exposed.

I dig it. Harkens to the past a little.

Great eye! Nice Capture!

I wish I could see some more of the shop, and all those unfamiliar tools.

Blacksmith's are hard to find now days, at least for me. I just tried to capture his craft as best I could with no setup or lights. --- I developed this "process" for use in some of my art gallery work.

Thanks for your comments

Thanks ian,

I know this processing isn't to everybody's liking, but it works for some of my art work. I'm glad you like it :thumb

Actually, this blacksmith just acquired the shop (which is local to me), and is in the process of outfitting it to full capacity, equipment wise. I spoke with him for quite some time and will schedule a full "shoot" when he gets the shop in order. I'd like that. Maybe I can help in some small way bring back a piece of the past.

Thanks for looking and your comments.
