Next stop Denver just an overnight stop to pickup the Rental RV, but we did manage get a good meal at the Mercury Cafe, organic food, (very tasty) organic beers and juices, friendly service and live music :thumb
http://Gubbs.smugmug.com/photos/22319964-L.jpg
and the RV at Moturis, our home for the next week
http://Gubbs.smugmug.com/photos/22256496-L.jpg
From Denver we headed West on the I70 up over the rockies, it rained, snowed and was shrouded in mist. Not great photo conditions and we were on a bit of a schedule.
We camped the first night in a place called Rifle Falls and arrived just after dark, hooking up the RV for the first time in the dark and rain was an experience in itself. Here's a few pix from our morning walk

Gus, I really didn't want to give it back :D We tried to find one on our last Monday in SF but 3 out of 3 shops were on back order. Mrs G has ordered one for me as a b/day pressie so it should arrive this week although I probably won't get my grubby mitts on it for another week :cry
Brief hi-jack....
Shot a friends 40th the day after i got back home from Yosemite.
All 300/350/20D owners need this lens :wink

Gus what kinda shot is that? They call me the shot king at the pool hall but AI haven't drank anything that looked like that what is it?
Mate i dont drink so i hope i get it right but i think it was butterscotch shnapps on the bottom...bailys irish cream in the middle & conteau on the top.
They take this very seriously....until they get to the 12 th & then you do the mix in your mouth straight from the bottle.

I love this shot, Gubbs.
When they are on the beach, all together, with the exception of the Harry seal, I am afraid they are dead.
Memories of other photos in the news, I guess. So, very glad to see this guy up and about.
I like the shot where you are hurrying to make the gate closing. And the ones of San Fran. I really like the shot of Mrs Gibbs, :lol3 , at the Grand Hole.
I have never been there, always amazes me. Such an "American" place.
Nice shooting, looks like a great trip.

Wasn't that kind of dangerous for the Mrs G, standing at an angle like that?
Never having been there, I don't really know, but I was never told that the Hole and horizon slanted like that, there.

Mrs G wanted to take me out for the evening and had booked a table at a restaurant that a work colleague had suggested that she take me to. I thought it a little strange as she wouldn't tell me any thing about the place :dunno
When we arrived I noticed half of the U shaped bar was set up as dancefloor with poles :uhoh.
WTG, my wife had bought me to a lap dancing bar :D I couldn't quite believe it!!

Found you at 12.30, it is now 1.35 AM and I should have been in bed since long... I will dream happy USA dreams. I go to San Jose in october, with friends who want me to shoot their family on a trip, and next year in January Florida, Wyoming and Arizona. (I am married to an American, with family all over).
Can't wait to test my nikon with the lenses...
Loved your tour gubbs, Mrs. G is a keeper... She shoots well and plans good dinners.
