Color behind gallery thumbs

Hi,

Can someone tell me how to change the color of the center box in a gallery? It's the center box where on the left you see the photo thumbs and then on the right you see a larger photo. I found out how to change the entire page color and the color around that box, but not the box itself. Also, does that box have a name?

Can you also tell me how to shorten a line under a logo so it doesn't go all the way across the browser page?

My theme is smugmug grey, but my background color is #111111.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
