This guy got excited a lot. Took this on a dock in Santa Barbara,CA

I told him to knock it off so I could take a nice picture of him. He settled.

His buddy was a little standoffish however. I even tried enticing him with a meal but he didn't want my Afgan. leftovers...

The story continues, actually...

After taking some pictures I was standing around talking with a photographer buddy that I met up with in LA. Anyways, as we were standing there, one of the pelicans ran up to a guy that had just pulled up a fish from the ocean. The fish was still hooked to the fishing line. What does the pelican do? He gobbles up the fish with the large hook still in it!

Of course the hook gets caught on the poor guy. So me and a few other guys dropped what we were doing and grabbed the poor fella while one of the guys worked open it's mouth and detached the hook from his neck area.

The pelican was so scared, didn't know what was going on. We felt so bad. We got the fish out, took it off the hook, and fed it to ol birdy to help him forget the whole mess.
