I was pretty dissapointed with my IR shots from Yosemite. I will play with them some more and see if I can improve them in post.

This is the best one.

Exif:
ISO 200
Aperture: f/3.5
Focal Length: 19mm (28mm 35mm)
Exposure Time: 0.0333s (10/300)
JPEG Quality: fine
Exposure Program: Aperture priority
Exposure Bias: 0
LightSource: 4
White Balance: manual
DigitalZoomRatio: 1/1

Steps in post. I didnt write it down, but I think this will be close.

1) Adjust>Desaturate
2>adjust>Levels (expand to black point and white point as needed)
3>Adjust>Contrast (probably an increase of between 3 and 6)
4>Unsharp mask 75/1/1

I was messed up for the first day white balance wise. Manual, lightsource 4 is "flash". This could not have helped.

I sent you a PM with a link. The link is at the bottom after the EXIF. It is the image straight from the camera. Originals should be on.

ok - bummer you don't have the orig to this one anymore :whip

here are my thoughts, re in-post...

1) convert to bw, using new adj layer>channel mixer>50,50,0 check the monochrome box

2) flatten

3) try a new adj layer>curves> and set your black and white points, or, simply give it a gentle s-curve to taste

4) use the layer mask to take down some of the highlights if needed

finally, i've had better results with a 720nm filter over the 890nm filter...
