Yes, squirrels are a nuisance in most parts of the country, but here at the beach they're not all that common. A pair of them has moved into the palm tree next door. My cat was in a stare-down with one of them this morning and I enticed him (her?) up to the steps with some smoked almonds.

I'm still learning how to use this new camera (50D). These were shot in RAW and it's the first time I've used DPP.

Unbelievable! I can't believe you fed him by hand and that he trusted you as he did. Great capture and funny action shots. :clap

Love the shots! :thumb

Especially the stare-down with puss and the up-on-hind-legs stance. :D

Nice series! Surprising how willing the squirrle came up and ate out of a human's hand.:clap

Thanks. I don't think he was all that hungry, though. He only ate one of the nuts and hid the rest. He would run off, push it down into the grass and then put a leaf over it. I wonder how many get retrieved vs. end up in my lawnmower.

I love love the pose in #3. It reminds me of the cowardly lion in the wizard of oz:

"Come on...put 'em up...put 'em up!"
