I'm too lazy to drive all the way to the cape. This is about a mile from the house, shot from the side of the road.

Thanks Andy :)
I got a little spooked - something swam by as I was shooting that. It didn't look like a 'gator but it sure wasn't a fish! :rofl

Howdy Scott,
What a great moment, it must be an awe inspiring sight, and to capture it as you have, makes it even better.

Wonderful! :clap Was it loud?
[edit] After looking closer, I was wondering about the dimming, then re-brightening of the arc. The 3 main engines are throttled back after a bit to ease stresses and then are cranked up again after the danger passes. (If you've watched launches on TV you've heard the call from Houston "Go at throttle-up"). I never thought you could visually see the difference though. If that's what it is, that's doubly cool!

this is just brilliant. I'd def. order a nice big print of this.
in fact, i'd be willing to bet that you could sell this to nasa or one of the astronauts for a pretty penny. really cool shot.
