But something I ponder.

What happens my SmugMug web site when I die, my site having become a main scrapbook/journal, for family, personal, as well as artistic.

I'm thinking I might create hard-copies of the galleries/text. But time consuming. Yes, all my files are stored on HD and DVDs, but not the same as my carefully crafted galleries.

Talk it over with my kids - I don't think they really know the extent of the contents - let them know I hope they'll keep the site up, but how are the issues of billing/ownership/password handled by Smug Mug in the event of the death of a customer?

I ain't goin' anywhere anytime soon, God-willing - but I do think of this stuff, and am wondering if others have given thought to this issue, if so, how are you dealing with it?

Just stuff I think about at my age, from a practical stand-point more than anything else.

Thanks!

Same thought came into my mind several times. I really want to know what will happen to my photos when i die. For this reason i really want to do something special about photography, so people could remember me in good words. Some serious Exhibitions and a book are in my mind:scratch

Anyway don't think like that keep shooting and have fun :D

Make sure your 'final instructions' to family members include something that gives access to your SmugMug account - identifying info, name Credit Card used (last 5 digits), email address, etc. We routinely get emails from surviving family members who want to take over the account - we will give access once they can prove identity and the death of the SmugMug member.

At a certain age, one does think about this stuff. Not in a morbid sense, but as a matter of planning. You're too young!

Thanks, Andy, that seems simple enough.
