Hi everyone, first post. I've been a member of DP Review for years...finally trying to make my smug mug pages more personal. So my problem is after following Ivar's tut I got my banner to show up...but its only showing the background color of the image and not all the image! Weird?
see zip.smugmug.com and go to this image....

Welcome to dgrin. I'm a long time dpreview member myself.
In your CSS, you linked to the Original sized image that is 3125 x 625. You are seeing just a small piece of that image. I presume you wanted to specify the URL to the medium sized image: http://zip.smugmug.com/photos/414956856_eYzQJ-M.jpg instead.
So change this:
#my_banner {
width: 750px;
height: 150px;
margin: 0 auto;
background:url(http://zip.smugmug.com/photos/414956856_eYzQJ-O.jpg) no-repeat; }
to this:
#my_banner {
width: 750px;
height: 150px;
margin: 0 auto;
background:url(http://zip.smugmug.com/photos/414956856_eYzQJ-M.jpg) no-repeat; }

I never expected such a quick response! Of course that made perfect sense. Duh! Still seeing a problem however, if you have a moment. I followed the dimensions for my banner at 750 x 150 perhaps that's a problem? The small, medium and large images don't sit well and even the Xl isn't to my liking. Any more suggestions? I haven't had this much fun since I discovered PS!

If you want an exact image dimension like 150x750 that doesn't line up perfectly with one of Smugmug's generated sizes, then one way to get that is to create the 150x750 image in Photoshop (resize your current one to 150x750 pixels), upload that and then link to the original size, not one of the generated sizes. That's what I do.
You could also link to a custom size like http://zip.smugmug.com/photos/414956856_eYzQJ-750x150.jpg (http://zip.smugmug.com/photos/414956856_eYzQJ-750x150.jpg) but I think it's better for the quality of image and the speed of your site to just create the 150x750 image yourself and link to it.
