Yosemite Shoot-Out, the first inaugural D-Grin meet, and greet, was a great success. What started out as a casual get together ended up being a true international event.
Here are a few things I take away from this event. From Marc Muench, take some time to prepare, and think about your photo attempt, time of day, light conditions, light direction, etc. be more deliberate. f8 is your friend. Post processing, set your black, and white point, use Color Range.
From Andy, be more spontaneous, grab the camera and shoot! This is real important with things that move like people and animals. While not abusing your camera, use it. This is the first time I have taken my camera out in the rain.
Steve, when photographing these moving things, take bursts of shots, not just one.
From ehughes wife Missy. After watching her chase a Coyote with camera, and 400 mm lens, Coyotes are faster.
From everybody in general. Look in all directions, up, down, left, right, near, and far.
From Shay, carry a small piece of plastic to place on the ground to keep your knee and pants from getting soaked. True city guy.
If you’re a bird and get anywhere near these guys, you will be photographed! Anything food like will be eaten!
Here are a few snapshots of the defendants.
