Jiser A'Zarka is a Muslim/Arab village located on Israel's Mediterranean seafront, about 50Km North of Tel-Aviv. Village population is about 9,000 all belonging to one of twenty clans. Jiser A'Zarka is the poorest locality in Israel. About 90% of its inhabitants try to find their livelihood outside the village and about 20 families live from fishing locally.

Arabian Knights

Historically the village inhabitants were Bedouin nomads brought here under Turkish rule, some 700 years ago, as slave labor, to build and operate the port of Haifa.

In October 2000, during a weekend of Arab rioting in the North parts of Israel, an Israeli citizen was killed on the Coastal Road Expressway as the car passed by the village, when a large stone block crashed into the car in which he was traveling.

But children are children everywhere...

Pictures are wonderful and the story you have is very nice. To use an analogy it was like reading a snipet from a National Geographic article. Thanks for sharing,
Ashley
