I went to the park today to shoot pictures of squirrels... but I ended up taking pictures of a family who was there instead...

Also one of the pictures I took didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it because of the lighting...

Looks like you had fun.

If I could offer a critique....

You seem to have "head in the center of the photo-itis"....cutting off feet...and having lots of sky that doesn't particularly contribute to the photos.

Take your last photo, the one you asked for help with. It's a "backlit" shot. But if you had aimes lower, you would have had less sky in the photo, and the camera would have metered a lighter scene...would have helped the girl not be so dark.

Also, using flash would have helped.
