View Full Version : Sharing photos on Forums

Lately, when I share photos on forums all I see (and all my friends see) are the dreaded Red X's. I have been using my SmugMug account for about 4 years and never have had a problem in the past. Any clues???

I am going to do a test right now too...:scratch

Can you post a link to your smugmug site so I can check your settings please?

Your photo showed up in your post, normally photo's won't show because you have external links turned off in your customise gallery settings.

What concerns me is that for 3 years it wasn't an issue, and now it is. Yesterday when I posted, the photo did show, and now it doesn't.

I did check the customize gallery settings and where this photo resided, the sharing was off. Is there a way to make sure that every new album I create has the same settings?

I might have figured it out...I was able to mass edit all the settings to include sharing and external links. I'll have to test it out.:huh

The quick setting (http://www.smugmug.com/help/picture-storage) on this help page shows how to save a setting and apply it to new and existing galleries. Your pictures won't show in forums if external links are turned off. If you changed external links to "off" and cicked on"apply to other galleries" while using a quick setting, it would have turned off external links in all galleries.

Please shout if you need anything else.
