Nikon 70 - 300 f/4-5.6G

I need a biggish telephoto. B&H is selling this lens for $130. I know it's fairly slow, but why is it that inexpensive? Anybody have one? Where's a good site (not necessarily digicam-specific) for reviews? I have an el-cheapo Quantaray 80 - 200 f/4-5.6 and I'm thinking this Nikon must have better glass than it, right?

I don't know anything about it, but I just googled Nikkor 300 5.6G and came across a couple reviews. Opinion seems to be mixed. PhotographyReview.com (http://www.photographyreview.com/pscLenses/35mm,Zoom/Nikon,70-300mm,f-4-5.6G,AF,Zoom-Nikkor/PRD_84916_3128crx.aspx) had a page for it that you might want to check out.

It sure is cheap. You could buy it, try it out, and if you don't like it, give it to a friend for a present and not be out much.
