Fullscreen Slidehow captions

I know you can turn it off with 'Hide Captions' at the top of the slideshow screen but is there a way to turn it off so that 'Show Captions' is the default?

Don't know of a way and that really sucks especially with Smug automatically
adding the filename to captions on upload. There used to be great caption
control/customization with the old slideshow but the new flash captions are
terrible. They cover the photo, show extra line breaks, no color or size
change, the links to change things at the top are so small most viewers don't
see them before they disappear, just to name a few.:D
