Drove up to Gibert AZ today, just outside of Phoenix, to shoot at Water Ranch which is a Riparian Preserve. The stilts were wading in the early morning light :lust

Then a GBH flew in and hid quite a distance away :wink

I circled around and he flew to a better spot for me to get a better capture :ivar

Very good, Dan! :D

Those hungry GBH's can provide you with great opportunities. The Stilt with reflection is very pleasing.

Thanks Ric. You are right. I should have stuck around longer to see him grab a fish. I was just so excited to capture him, I left. :dunno :rofl

Beautiful captures, Dan. Especially the first one. Are you using a 300mm for these?

Thanks Jeff. Yes, I did (with a 1.4 TC = 420)

Are you signing up for the Acadia 2009 shootout?

Thank you Neil. I don't know about the steady hand part. I did use a tripod though. :rofl

Absolutely stunning!!! :barb

If I had to choose faves, I'd say the 1st and last shots, but all of them are just wonderful.

Thanks much Cato. Unfortunately there are no really good places to shoot wildlife in my area, and I'm becoming starved for target rich environments. I had to drive 90 miles to shoot these. Life is tough :cry :rofl
