Nope, this is way more than just a lucky shot. I think its a fine image.

Probably just my laptop but if its not I think you could pour some more
"pop" into this image. I bumped the hue / saturation to add even more
color and bit of brightness / contrast just to see what happens for the
picture quality. I think it added value. But thats just me. :D

I'm not all that great at PP either. But I bang around anyway. :D
Sometimes it works out and I still have hair left in a place or two.

I think it important to maintain the silhouette tree line in your photo
as much as possible.

Maybe something like this for result. Bit more pop and foreground
is maintained pretty well.

Hi Anselina....Your shot is very well taken. It catches the eye and sparks the imagination.

Michael....I agree that the photo could use a little more " pop ". I like your version even more than Anselina's " improved " version because you maintained more of the dark area as definable space. The jet contrails do not show in your version as they do in Anselina's darker version. Good job.

This may spark a little debate here and i appologise if it does but i find that lowering the tones too much in an image causes more noise which causes the eye to be taken away from what the image is about and that is what is happening on the edits here so there has to be a balance found between gaining more impact and noise.

Noise. Thanks for pointing it out.
On my desktop I didn't notice the noise created as a feature of what I did
to the image. On my laptop (depending on what angle I look at its screen)
I see some introduced noise. Brightness set a little too high on the laptop
probably. :D

Agreed. In most any final print, after PP & working with the original image,
of course no noise is generally the goal for a quality result.

I went back to the original 70K image to work with here and ran it through
Neat Image. I'll post that result here to see if the noise got toned down
at all. Maybe a tad got shaved off.
