A few shots of Bamburgh and Alnwick Castle, which are located on the East coast of Northumbria on the border of England and Scotland. C & C more than welcome in order I can improve my shots.

Bob - You have a terrific eye for composition. You asked for C&C so I feel compelled to make a comment. I would like to see these shots in lighting other that what appears to be mid-day. Having visited your area of the world in the spring I was astounded by the beauty and history contained in these structures. In the early or late light of the day they just seem to come alive.

I would like to challenge you to shoot them again, or any one of the seemingly hundreds of ancient buildings, and use the light of day and different perspectives to take us on an emotional journey. I recall being captivated by the doorways and arches and crumbling stone walls. Can you use that great eye of yours to bring those elements to the viewer?

Thanks for looking and I really do appreciate your comments and I certainly will pay a visit again as they are only 60 miles from where I live. You are quite right I am sure the light in the early morning or evening will produce a more effective and a live look to these structures.

Boy, these castles are really something!

I totally agree with re-shooting in the morning and evening. Castles by their nature are dramatic pieces of architecture, and that can be augmented by long, imposing shadows. I hope you get the chance soon, and will post you captures.
