I read somewhere in one of these threads that setting up hosting option that's a redirect or setup where the smugmug part of the address does not appear / need to be typed in the address bar, can possibly cause the Shoppping cart and other features to possibly not show up for the viewers....

so when you go to http://winkphotoworks.com

is my shopping cart showing up on YOUR pc when you look?

Just curious, thank you.

Markjay,
I see the cart in the "Order Photos Here" gallery.

You kinda have that problem described - but not 100%. The issue is not with redirects but when you use Frames (as I see you are doing on your site). What happens is that Internet Explorer (Windows) does not set cookies (for things like logging in and the shopping cart) properly because it is concerened that we are setting a cookie for smugmug.com and it does not match the site it says that it is on. The safest way is to use a cname for what you want to do.

Make sense?

I didn't even know I WAS using "frames". How does one recognize when frames are being used or not? Yes I know, a ignorant photographer who knows nothing about site building question :-)

Safest as in, being confident "cookies" will work in a friendly way for the visitors?
And, how do I undo what I did and just use Cname now? What, you think I actually remember what I did to set this all up after all these months? lol

The only thing that makes sense to me, is photography? But yes, I see your point, well expressed and thank you for that!

I viewed the source code and it does in fact mention frames for my webpage.

Again, would you spell out how I now go about undoing what could be causing cookie malfunctioning (so to speak) and how go about setting up the CName as you suggested?

Thank you, Smugmug!

To set up a cname you will need to go to whoever you registered your domain name and use their tools. We have an excellent help seciton that covers how to do it: http://smugmug.com/help/professional-accounts

Their is no right way to use frames AND have cookies work in Internet Explorer - otherwise I would just have you fix it that way :)

Well, it's like this:

I knew I had to upload full size images for printing a quality print and, did not want customers to lose site of the fact that these are copyright images. So, I added the white border (extended the canvas) with my copyright symbol to the image so that the image itself still had enough to print from with the border excluded.

Bad idea?

Suggest a different way of handling this?
