Isn't it pretty? First time I have taken a decent photo in that area of magnolia gardens. I was the one who saw the gator, with the people at the seminar. We all shot it. Some people might have gotten good photos, too, but I bet this equals theirs........including the nature photographer's.

Comments welcome. I hate to back off on the dark part. I think that is why it works, what do you all think?

ginger (I am doing the seminar photos last night (from Saturday), all night, and today I am uploading them)

Thanks for looking, smile.

Hi Ginger,

Great capture.:thumb The colors of the flowers look smashing against the "dark". I must say the gator does look as if he desires some turtle soup! Thanks for sharin'.

I didn't see them until I worked it up last night. Rutt, if you read this, see this, I sure appreciate those dark and light sharpening tips. I used them here, and on the other one. On photos, not of people, am kind of confused about them, still. I wondered it using it on the animals up there would ruin them......it didn't. And I don't know that I ever would have seen the "drama" without the sharp sharpening.

And thanks to whoever pushed me into RAW, I could not have finished the photo without RAW, and it was not complicated, just control over the final exposure, to the nth degree. I did not layer, not complicated, just put the slider in the right place and saw the photo change from a reject to a winner.

Love the sharpening and the RAW..........and the sliders. Maybe I should give some credit to the clone tool for helping me "clean" up the lake.

g (Thanks for looking and commenting.)

for being proud of this one!:thumb

I :lust the soft dreamy look mixed with what could be impending disaster for the turtle. That's the way life is.

This one IS special, Ginger.:clap

These look pretty darn good, especially the closer shot. I can feel the jungle humidity. Advanced sharpening seems to be working for you.
