This past Sunday was the first day in a long time when I've had time to pick up the camera. I went out to watch the Roswell (Ga) Critierium bike races. Here's a few shots from the action:

Great cycling shots. Nice angles. Good panning. :thumb

Love the first shot. Team 'Aarons' working together!

FYI. Some of my cycling shots here (http://cs-pics.smugmug.com/gallery/131104).

Kent, this first shot is real nice. It looks a tad risky to have taken that one. Curb shot? Or were you hiding just under a manhole cover?

Good shots all, actually.

Am. racing is long since in my past. I still enjoy watching and seeing these shots. I'm glad I'm not waking up at 4:30am to train anymore.

I was standing behind the barricade just as the riders were completing a 90 degree left hand turn. The shot was taken by holding the camera underneath the barricade at curb level.

Kent,

That first shot is sweet :thumb :thumb

Good idea to shoot from under the barricade :clap It gave you a shot with a unique perspective. The others are very nice too. But, that 1st one makes you feel like you are peering through the barricade. Like Walter Cronkite used to say
You Are There :D

cycling is sooo hard at close range eh? Getting them sharp while taking corners is really hard work. I play around with corner shots like that a lot, but the keepers are usually from sitting down the straight and shooting up towards the corner as they exit. so you actually have a chance to grab a focus.

Wow, the first one is wonderful. I'm impressed with the clarity in all of them. A job well done! :thumb

I really love the second one. Love the motion and clarity together. Excellent.

And a quick woohoo for Roswell :) My hometown! I really should get over there and visit my parents...
